Boy! After the day I had yesterday I really need this blog therapy session! Oh where to begin??
First off my day at work was very busy. I found myself several times on my desk phone, having one or more people in my office and my cell phone ringing all at the same time. I am one person here......take a number and get in line!
After I read Kelly's blog where she mentioned the Tori Spelling book and of course me jumping online and reading the rave reviews from it I had to have it TODAY. I remembered seeing it at Walmart and HyVee grocery store (of all places) so since both stores are close to my work I headed to them at lunch and sadly came back to work empty handed. It must be a great read if I can't find it at either store I had seen it at previously.
My oldest stepson turned 18 and graduated from high school last week. He moved out of his mother's house (against her wishes and ours) two and a half months ago in order to move in with his peroxide hair job girlfriend at her grandparents house (yes....VERY Jerry Springer!) He didn't want to follow house rules at his mother's house (after all he told us he was "kind of" an adult at the age of 17) and he was lying to us all so much that he didn't even know what was true anymore. So, since he is now of age and has no plans of going to college (also against our wishes) my husband has contacted a lawyer about stopping child support. So my husband calls me a little after 4:00 to let me know he talked to the lawyer. We find out that in the state of Missouri child support does not automatically stop when your child meets the state's criteria of no longer needing the child support. Nope! You have to file paperwork at the whopping cost of $900-1,000. Is that not ridiculous? When my daughter meets the states criteria I will tell my ex husband to quit paying me. The state of Missouri can kiss my right butt cheek because there is no way I am going to have him have to pay that much money. Good old Missouri, the Show Me State, the state wants you to Show them the money! We are going to get a second opinion but I am sure we will have to pay that much.
Ok so I leave work and decide that on my way home I will stop by the HyVee by my house and hopefully they will have the Tori book. No......they have an abundance of the Valerie Bertinelli books but no Tori. Uuuugh!
Now the Paypal issue. A few months ago our garbage disposal company notified us that they will no longer be picking up yard waste so we had to go seek another company. We found one and my husband promptly signed us up for the new service. He let me know that we could pay the yearly fee online through Paypal. The Paypal account is in my name and I rarely use it. I have a bank account registered on the Paypal account that is used only for online purchases. I also have a credit card registered to the account. I told my husband when he paid for the service to use the credit card because I never put money in the bank account tied to the Paypal account unless I am going to make an online purchase. I watched him as he completed the transaction and he selected the radio button that would charge the credit card. Well low and behold what do we get in the mail? Yup....a statement from the bank showing that Paypal charged the bank account and of course there were not sufficient funds in the bank account to cover. I immediately get on the phone to my bank and explain the situation and they tell me to come into a branch office the next day and we will get it all worked out. I then call Paypal. I had this problem another time with them and they basically said "sorry about your luck!" Of course this time was no different except this time the call went to a foreign country (Good old USA sending our jobs overseas....you gotta love it....NOT!) where I could barely understand the rep on the phone. I explained the situation to her and she told me "Sorry" and that is all she had to offer. She asked me some out of the blue questions like "Was this an ebay purchase?" No! And would it matter if it was? Then one time she asked if I could see my screen.....???? It was like a long silence after I said something to her and then she asked "do you see your screen?" I said "yes" and that was all she had to say. I finally asked to talk to a supervisor who was more pathetic than the rep. He gets on the phone and says "I understand YOU made an error when making a purchase through Paypal". Ok first off, in the USA, we know about customer service and how the customer is always right. WE would never start off our initial contact with a costumer saying they were wrong. (WAY TO GO, PAYPAL big wigs for moving your corporation to a foreign country where they treat your customers like crap! But I am sure you don't mind as long as you are making your millions!) I told "Justin" to hold on and let me set the story straight for him. Of course even after I explained there was absolutely nothing he was going to do. So I told him I would never use Paypal again (Yes, I deleted my account last night) and I would spread the word to everyone I know about the way they do people. Justin told me to do that and then hung up on me. (Anyone that knows me knows that I am not a cusser so I never said anything fowl to either one of the reps I talked to. I did raise my voice but was always respectful.) So once again..... real crappy service - American's would NEVER treat customers that way. So I am doing my duty as I said I would to Justin. PAYPAL SUCKS!!!!!! I will never ever use the service again. I am sharing my story with anyone who happens to read my blog as well will continue to tell everyone I know.
So after all that we take my stepson's home (they come over for dinner on Wednesday nights) and afterwards my hubby and I drive by Target and I finally find Tori. Mission accomplished! I get back home, clean up, get my daughter into bed, get lunches made, hubby into bed and at 10:00PM I get all comfy on the couch to start reading my Tori book. I decided I would read until 10:30 which turned into 11:00 which turned into 11:30! (You are right, Kel, it is a real page turner) Love my Tori book~!
At 11:30 I put Tori down because I still had to run up to the gas station to get a stamp and some batteries (no, not for that.....my daughter was taking the camera with her to the Royal's game for Kid's Day at the K and the batteries were out.) The gas station tells me that they are out of stamps so I get the batteries and then drive over to the Post Office as there is a self service area that is open 24 hours. I am scared to death to be out all by myself but I walk inside and attempt to purchase a stamp when I find out the only way you can now purchase a stamp is with a debit or credit card. Now, why would I put 42 cents on my debit or credit card? So I leave there and head to another gas station (after all who else is open at 11:50 at night?) and am finally able to purchase a stamp. I had perfectly good stamps at home but not the ones that reflect the recent price change. Uuuuuuuugh! I drive back home, take the dog out, brush my teeth and go to bed. This girl has had enough for one day!
Don't forget to pass the word that PAYPAL SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!
