Vacation Day 3

Today we went to the pottery studio and painted a piece of pottery. On the way to the pottery studio I explained to our children how we were to have manners while we were there. I specifically told the boys that conversations about butts, farts, and poop (you know, guys favorite subjects) were a no go. At the time I was explaining this I didn't realize how "key" this would be in our day. Read on....

When we got to the studio we were the only ones there. The boys quickly picked out a piece of pottery - A painted a skateboard and B painted an alligator. K threw a fit trying to find a piece of pottery - which was expected - she is such a drama queen. She finally settled on a star mug. I painted an octopus and my husband painted a '55 corvette. We had the studio to ourselves for the first hour and a half and then some other customers came in to paint. All was going well when my *HUSBAND* let out 3 farts. Then he didn't stop there he let out like an additional 15!!!! Our kids were cracking up and I was TOTALLY embarrassed! A let us know that all the other tables were starring over at our table. I couldn't believe how I had a conversation with the boys about not talking about these things but never in my LIFE did I think I needed to tell my husband to not actually DO any of those things. I am used to those types of bodily functions after raising 3 boys and I work mainly with men at my job. But to have my husband do it in a small studio with only women there besides out kids was over the top. I can't take him anywhere! I told him tonight that he had better not let that happen at my high school reunion this weekend!

I got K's skating party booked. I had to book it 3 weeks past the time I wanted to book it because that is all that was available. It kind of ticks me off because I have been calling the skating rink for 3 weeks and left messages for someone to call me back but would never get a return call. Then now the date I had to book it on my sister is going to be out of town and cannot make the cupcakes. She is going to make the icing (my sister makes the BEST icing in the whole entire world!) ahead of time and I will make the cupcakes. I hate it when I try to be extremely organized and can't get what I need on the other end so then my plans have to dramatically change for those that do not have it together.

I have my first PTSA meeting next week. Life as I knew it is about to change as I know I will be extremely busy with PTSA this next school year. Besides the meeting next week I already have 5 dates in August that I have already had to put on my calendar for PTSA events.
